Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the leadership of Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF. On Monday, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Ambari of 152 Battalion BSF under Kishanganj Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian national Harasit Biswas from Vill-Jharbari, Dangipara, PS-Goalpokhar, Distt-Uttar Dinajpur(West Bengal) alongwith 14 Nos Gold Biscuits (weight 1632.510 Gms) while he was clandestinely carrying these Gold Biscuits in his under garments and coming from Bangladesh to India after farming in his ahead of agricultural land. Apprehended Indian National with seized Gold Biscuits handed over to Custom Office Islampur.
In addition to above, from 26 Oct to 01 Nov, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 54 Cattle, 675 Bottles of Phensedyl, 14 Nos of Gold Biscuits and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.94,26,091/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
