Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh. In 2019, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of this airport at Hallangi, Itanagar, Arunachal. According to sources, aircraft can take off at this airport in any weather throughout the year. Not only passenger aircraft, but also fighter jets can fly on this runway. According to official sources, 640 crore rupees have been spent to build the greenfield airport on 690 acres of land. The airport has been completely rebuilt by clearing the forest area in the deep forest. There are renewable energy systems. The name also has a touch of Arunachal tradition. Dhoni means sun and polo means moon. With this, the Prime Minister inaugurated 7 airports across the country since 2014.
