2 people, including a policeman, were killed in a suicide blast in Pakistan. The incident took place in Baleli area of Quetta near Balochistan province on Wednesday. According to sources in the news agency, there was a suicide blast in a police truck. A policeman and a child were killed. At least 24 people, including 20 police personnel, were injured in the blast. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital. According to Pakistani media reports, the explosion caused the police truck to fall into a ditch. Rescue teams and bomb squads have been dispatched to the blast site. 25 kilograms of explosives are estimated to have been used. Quetta DIG Ghulam Azfar Mahesar told Pakistani media that it was a suicide attack as they found the remains of the attacker at the scene. Banned militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack. Three vehicles were damaged. The blast site has been cordoned off and further investigations are underway.
