On 26 Dec 2022 at about 1710 hrs, acting on tip off, a joint operation was carried out by troops of 17 Battalion BSF & Kishanganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier and Kishanganj police in the general area of Rampur under PS + Distt – Kishanganj (Bihar) and apprehended 02 Indian Nationals, namely Pappu Kumar (36 Yrs) S/o Lakshmeshwar Sah, R/O Vill-Nunphara, PS-Piyar, Distt-Muzaffarpur (Bihar) and Chandrashekhar Singh (32 Yrs), S/o Gopal Singh, R/O Vill-Kadama, PS- Rajepur, Distt-East Champaran (Bihar), while duo were coming from Muzaffarpur to Kishanganj (Bihar) on a bike bearing the registration No. of Bihar and the operation party stopped them and the party thoroughly searched both of them including their bag & bike. During search, 20 bundles of Rs.200 dummy fake note with 04 Nos of Rs.200/- (original), 10 bundles of Rs.500 dummy fake note with 02 Nos of Rs.500/- (original) and Nepali Currency 40 Rupiah were recovered from the bag of Pappu Kumar.
During questioning, it was revealed that Pappu Kumar is working in Bihar Police / Bihar Military Police (BMP-6) at Muzaffarpur (Bihar) as a Constable since 2006. He is the native of Muzaffarpur (Bihar). Meanwhile, another one i.e. Chandrashekhar was unemployed.
Original Identity Card of Bihar Military Police (BMP-6), election card and 01 Mobile from the possession of Pappu Kumar was recovered and 01 Aadhar Card and 01 Mobile was also recovered from the possession of Chandrashekhar Singh.
As revealed by Constable Pappu Kumar, seized fake dummy currency was to be handed over to someone in Kishanganj and in exchange of fake currency, original Indian currency was to be taken. But, he could not get success and was apprehended by Border Security Force in Kishanganj.
Apprehended Constable of Bihar Military Police and the Indian National alongwith seized items were handed over to PS Kishanganj.
