On Sunday, a Joint Retreat Parade was held at ICP Fulbari by Border Security Force (BSF) of India and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) of Bangladesh in which both the Border Guarding Forces lowered their respective National Flags in cordial and harmonious atmosphere on the auspicious occasion of 52nd Independence Day of Bangladesh. Troops of BSF and BGB presented a grand and magnificent retreat parade.
The grand retreat parade was inaugurated jointly by Ajai Singh, Inspector General, BSF North Bengal Frontier and Brigadier General Benazir Ahmed, BGBMS, afwc, psc, Region Commander of BGB North West Region, Rangpur (Bangladesh). The historic Joint Retreat Parade was witnessed by the senior officials of both sides of border guarding forces and local dignitaries.
Ajai Singh, Inspector General, BSF North Bengal Frontier stated that Joint Retreat Parade between BSF and BGB will go a long way in promoting fraternity and goodwill gesture between both the border guarding forces. He further stated that people of both the countries have traditionally enjoyed close geographical, historical, cultural and ethnic ties which have strengthened over a period of time.
Brigadier General Benazir Ahmed, BGBMS, afwc, psc, Region Commander of BGB North West Region, Rangpur (Bangladesh) expressed his happiness on organizing the Joint Retreat Parade and expressed his gratitude to BSF for actively participating in the event. He expressed desire of his Government to maintain better relations between both the countries as well as friendship between both border guarding forces.
