There has been an uproar across the country over the banning of the screening of ‘The Kerala Story’. A case has been filed in the Supreme Court. Why was the movie banned in West Bengal? The Supreme Court has given a notice to the West Bengal government and asked for a response. The case was heard in the division bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Friday. In today’s hearing, the Chief Justice raised the question, ‘The movie is being shown in all states. There is no violence anywhere. So where is the objection to show in Bengal?
The Supreme Court also said that the movie should be allowed to continue. Those who want will see, those who don’t will not see. What makes a simple matter so complicated? Similarly, the Supreme Court has also sent a notice to the MK Stalin government of Tamil Nadu. The request to lift the ban was made by the litigants. But after the questioning of both parties, the Supreme Court has ordered to send a notice to the state government. Based on that notice, Navanna has to respond by next Tuesday.
