Modi removes Kiren Rijiju as Law Minister over ‘controversial’ comments on appointment of judges

Kiren Rijiju was removed from the post of Union Law Minister for making ‘controversial’ comments on the appointment of judges. Rajasthan BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal has been made Minister of State with Independent Charge of Law Ministry in his place. Kiren Rijiju has been given the charge of Ministry of Geology. A notification regarding the transfer of office has been published from the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday. According to the sources, Kiren has increased the irony of the government by making controversial comments in public.
He has been reprimanded by the Supreme Court for clashing with the judiciary. It is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to send a positive message to the Supreme Court by removing him.

He has long criticized the Supreme Court’s judiciary, from the “transparency of the collegium system” in the appointment of judges to the legal recognition of same-sex marriage cases. In a recent discussion, Rijiju said, “Several of the retired judges of the Supreme Court are members of ‘anti-India groups’!” The work of that group is to incite the judiciary against the government! Earlier, Rijiju had complained about the lack of transparency in the collegium system in the appointment of judges.
That is why he had to listen to the rebuke of the Supreme Court. Even after this Kiren did not stop targeting the Supreme Court. He also commented on the pending issue of legal recognition of same-sex marriage. He said, the people of the country have to decide on important matters like marriage. The court is not the place to settle such issues.’
