After 15 years, Delhi Purnigam was lost to BJP. Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party got a single majority. Results declared by the State Election Commission (SEC) at 1:55 pm on Wednesday show that AAP won 126 seats. There are 250 wards in Delhi Purnigam. 126 seats were required to achieve a single majority. The counting of votes in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) began on Wednesday morning amid tight security. Initially there was a bitter fight between UP-BJP. Later Kejriwal’s team went ahead. It is reported that AAP has won 126 seats so far. BJP won 97 seats.
