Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 27 Mar 2023 (Monday) at about 0600 hrs, acting on tip off, troops of BOP Hariharpur of 174 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Bangladeshi National namely Bidhan Chondro Roy (20 Yrs), S/o Rajendra Nath Roy, Vill-Tajpur, PS-Kotwali, Distt-Dinajpur (Bangladesh) alongwith 175 Nos of Yaba Tablets, 124 bottles of Phensegrip, 850 Bangladeshi Taka and 01 Android Mobile phone while he was trying to cross border illegally with these items for smuggling purpose from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Bangladeshi National with seized items handed over to PS Gangarampur.
In addition to above, on 24 to 28 Mar 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 12 Nos of Cattle, 4,338 bottles of Phensedyl group of syrup, 175 Nos of Yaba Tablets and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.11,69,073/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
