Bloody Sudan in civil war (Sudan Crisis). The citizens of the country are in dire straits in the army-paramilitary conflict. Indians are being brought back from Sudan. More than five hundred Indians were rescued by army planes and ships.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, most Indians live in Khartoum. The Centre’s mission to bring them back to the country is ‘Operation Kaveri’. About 530 people were rescued from the war-torn areas by military aircraft and ships and taken to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Indian Embassy has already created a WhatsApp group for repatriation of Indians living in Sudan, the Ministry of External Affairs said. Indians stuck in war-torn areas (Sudan Crisis) are communicating through this group.
360 people were brought to Delhi from Jeddah on Wednesday night. Many have reported their horrific experiences on their return home.
An Indian employee of a corporate firm in Khartoum said paramilitary forces entered their offices and ransacked them. Money, mobile phones and laptops were taken away by pointing guns at the workers’ heads and chests.
They were in the office for the last three to four days. Electricity was disconnected, there was no food and water. Somehow the news was conveyed to the Indian Embassy. Then the Indian army aircraft came and rescued them.
Incidentally, within the 72-hour ceasefire, a new army-paramilitary battle has started in Sudan. No water, no food. People have to spend under house arrest. More than 20 children died in the country. Hundreds of injured children are admitted to the hospital.
