Congress files complaint against Modi for campaigning with children

Congress is back against Modi. The country’s oldest political party filed a complaint with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in New Delhi on Tuesday for campaigning with children in the run-up to the Gujarat elections. On this day, party spokesperson Supriya Srinete is reported to have filed this complaint against Modi in the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Sreenath claims that the BJP has become so desperate to get votes in Gujarat that they have used young children to campaign to attract the attention of the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is supporting this. Using children to campaign for political polls is a cognizable offense and is against the Election Code of Conduct as per the Election Commission’s policy.
The controversy was sparked by a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that went viral on social media. Modi recently met a seven-year-old girl while campaigning for the Gujarat assembly elections. A video of that meeting has gone viral across Gujarat. BJP leaders and workers are tweeting it. In the video, the seven-year-old child is seen shouting for the BJP. A very happy Modi is sitting next to him with a smile. The girl says, no one can defeat BJP in Gujarat, only BJP will return to Gujarat, only BJP will save Gujarat. In that video of 57 seconds, the girl is saying, curfew is past in Gujarat, for whom? Who has withdrawn Article 370, who is building Ram Mandir? Needless to say, the BJP is just praising Modi. At the end of the video, after singing the BJP’s panchali, Modi also said ‘Sabas’ to the girl. In this, the question has started to arise, how appropriate is it to promote the votes of a seven-year-old child from the northern part of BJP? On the other hand, the National Child Protection Commission is silent at once.
